PHUKET, Thailand - HotelTravel.
com is serving up âGrand Slamâ hotel rates to celebrate the start of this year's French Open in Paris, with matches set to begin at Roland Garros Stadium from May 22 until June 10.
HotelTravel.com Chief Information Officer, Olivier Dombey, said fans of clay court tennis staying in Paris during the almost three week event would still be able to find convention accommodation with access to main French Open venues.
"There are still good hotels available that offer an easy commute to Roland Garros. Depending on the match schedule and what tickets fans might be holding, it is often better to stay a bit away from the stadium to avoid the crowds and enjoy lower hotel rates during the competition," Mr. Dombey said.
This year, no one enters the competition a bigger favorite than Novak Djokovic. The world number does have his work cut out for him, however, since the French Open has been dominated by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer since 2005.This is the only Slam the mighty Serb has yet to win, and Djokovic would make a huge statement by winning and completing his career Grand Slam. It would be his first French Open crown after reaching the semi-finals three times.
On the women's side, Serena Williams seems back in form with Maria Sharapova and last year's French Open Champion Li Na also expected to contend.
Away from the on-court action HotelTravel.com has created heaps of unique deals on its Paris Hotel Promotions Page, featuring discounted rates of up to 50 percent off and starting from as low as euro 51 per night. All rates are from May 18
