Singapores newest low-cost carrier, Scoot will finally take to the skies this morning, with the launch of its inaugural flight to Sydney today.
Celebrities and media will pack the plane at Changi Airport to see the airline on its first flight bound for Sydney International Airport.
Officially launching daily flights into Sydney from 6 June this year, NSW premier Barry OFarrel announced late last year that the airlines decision to make Sydney its first stop was a confirmation that Sydney remains Australias only true global city.
Last month the airline challenged the public to name their new aircraft and the results have been published via the companies Facebook page.
Goin' Scootin and Barry will be the first two aircraft to take to the skies this month.
Scoot will also fly to the Gold Coast in Queensland on 12 June and continue to operate a five-times weekly service from 14 June.
