Virgin Australia is celebrating this Fourth of July by launching codeshare services on Virgin America for travel starting 17 July 2012.
The agreement will see Virgin Australia codeshare on Virgin America services from Los Angeles to eight cities including Dallas, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Portland, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia and Seattle.
The new codeshare agreement will see Virgin Australia extend its already extensive network within the United States on a range of routes with alliance partner Delta Air Lines.
Virgin Australia group executive of alliances, network and yield Merren McArthur expressed delight with the new agreement that adds to Virgin Australia guests seamless connection from Los Angeles to a total of 25 codeshare destinations and over 300 interline destinations across North America.
Being the first codeshare agreement for Virgin America, airline vice president of planning and sales Diana Walke said it was exciting being able to offer a more seamless experience to travellers from both sides of the Pacific.
With the Red touch-screen entertainment platform and three well-aligned classes of service our product is well-matched to Virgin Australia, Ms Walke said.
Virgin Australia is offering a range of special launch fares to celebrate the new codeshare service, valid for sale from today until the 17th of July on selected routes.
