Jetset Travelworld has announced former Group Executive at Qantas Airways, Rob Gurney will step into the role of chief executive for the Group following the impending retirement of current head, Peter Lacaze.
Revealed late last week, Mr Gurney will step into the lead role effective immediately, as Mr Lacaze prepares to officially step down from 30 September this year.
Jetset chairman Tom Dery said Mr Lacaze led an exemplary way in the lead up to the Stella Travel Services merger and expects Mr Gurney to be the best person to succeed the current head.
The board believe that Rob is the est person to take Jetset Travelworld forward in what is an increasingly fast-evolving and challenging environment, he said.
According to the chairman, Mr Lacaze and Mr Gurney will work together over the next five weeks to ensure a smooth transition and continuity.
