Las VegasâGold Coast Hotel and Casino, a Boyd Gaming property located near the Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Road, is in the midst of a comprehensive renovation project that will include the modernization of more than half of its hotel rooms, as well as updates throughout the casino floor.
âSince opening 26 years ago, the Gold Coast has established itself as a unique off-Strip destination for locals and tourists alike,â said Kerrie Burke, Vice President and General Manager of the Gold Coast. âWe have some of the best dining experiences in the city, and we offer guests a comfortable, low-key experience that is convenient but separate from the hustle and bustle of the Strip.â
âGiven our growing popularity, we felt it was time to reinvest in our product, providing our guests with a modern, boutique-like hotel experience,â Burke added.
The 400 refreshed guest rooms provide a boutique hotel vibe, with warm soothing textures and vibrant pops of color. Refurbishments include new wall coverings, carpet, blackout drapes, dresser, armoire, desk and small living area. Beds have been upgraded with new mattresses, comforters and pillows. Bathroom improvements include quartz counter tops with modern fixtures and contemporary porcelain tile on shower walls and floors. Digital temperature controls, HD televisions and new alarm clocks are also a part of the new guest rooms.
In the next phase of the renovation, the 87,000-square-foot casino floor will receive new carpeting this summer, and all slot stands and chairs will be replaced.
The renovation comes as Gold Coast receives growing national attention for its restaurant line-up.
In February, authentic Chinese dining hot spot Ping Pang Pong was name done of the âBest Chinese Restaurants in the United Statesâ by Travel+Leisure magazine â the only restaurant in Las Vegas to be included on the list. The operators of Ping Pang Pong, Kevin Wu and Karrie Hung, also operate a second Asian restaurant at Gold Coast, Noodle Exchange.
Gold Coast is also home to one of Las Vegas's most popular steakhouses, the Cortez Room, famed for prime rib, steak and seafood dishes offered at affordable prices.
Bingo enthusiasts can find the state's largest bingo center at the Gold Coast -- a 720-seat center offering eight bingo sessions daily, along with multiple monthly specials and events. Gold Coast also hosts a state-of-the-art 70-lanebowling center with open and league bowling and a full-service pro shop. A400-seat showroom and lounge offers live music, ballroom dancing and Monday night football parties.
