For Vancouver's new FlyOver™ Canada, the virtual flight experience may be simulated, but the adrenalin rush is most certainly real.
The first of its kind in the country, this blood-thumping, special effects journey travels east to west, showcasing Canada's spectacular scenery; as an added touch, this eye-popping exploration is backed by an original soundtrack, designed and filmed by the best in the high-tech business. Participants will marvel at views that span deep valleys and rushing rivers, and glide over wide swaths of prairie and soaring mountain tops. Buzzing urban landscapes in the Great White North? They've got those too. The new $17 million attraction promises a virtual 4D aerial experience at Canada Place, where up to 60 guests, elevated and strapped in their seats in front of a 20-metre-wide (65-foot-wide), sphere-shaped screen, will take in the show. And that's not all: this visual journey sails through the seasons and is even enhanced by wind, scents and mist. Buckle up. www.flyovercanada.com; www.canadaplace.ca
