The airline from mainland Africa provided more options for passengers flying from various parts of the world to the Seychelles and from Seychelles to cosmopolitan cities of living museums of natural history and cultural diversities.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, said that the tourism industry welcomed the announcement and also determination of Ethiopian Airline to work with the Tourism Board of the islands to develop new niche markets. The Minister is being accompanied on this working visit by Rosemarie Hoareau, the Director of Marketing at the Seychelles Tourism Board; Alan Mason of Mason's Travel; Guillaume Albert of Creole Travel; and Daniella Payet who is representing a group of small homegrown hotels from Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, and Cerf Islands.
Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
